Spalted Maple Sofa Table with Rugged Metal Frame

Striking spalted maple table top built upon a sleek rugged rectangular tubular frame. 
 
Presented is a spalted maple sofa table mounted on an elegant steel square tubing base. The 2" thick maple slab has been treated with multiple passes of a minwax clear poly wax. Inserts attach the slab to its metal base which is rough sanded and coated with a diamond clear coat and incorporates elements of #4 rebar in its build. The steel base is TIG brazed with a silicon-bronze rod which shows a golden/straw joint. The base incorporates the RSC signature TIG brazed-in anodized aluminum (blue) tube fittings and precision bent stainless tubing mimicking rocket engine testing hardware fashioned into the simple base structure.
