Tornado Red-Cedar Industrial Bench

This is the last of the 2011 Huntsville Tornado Red Cedar.
 
The handmade 7-foot long Cedar Bench is supported by TIG-brazed square steel tube framing constructed in a rough industrial style. Top steel cross clamp beams featuring welded tabs are cross-bolted to the upright frame with stainless steel bolts holding the finished cedar log in place.
 
The 1-1/2" square tubing is a combination of 11-gauge and 14-gauge edge brazed with hard poly caps used as end closures. The silicon-brazed joints were then post-heated to bring out heat affect coloring. Select areas of the Red Cedar have been filled with a stimulating Okinawa-Green epoxy with the bench surface treated and finished with a tung-oil sealant and then coated with multiple passes of a durable poly wax to protect from the elements. The base has been lightly prepared, sanded and coated with a durable diamond clear high gloss while keeping its rustic industrial features.
 
The Tornado-Red-Cedar Bench sits approximately 7' long, 16" wide at the seat center and 18" tall. Definitely a robust statement piece for a porch, patio, hallway or entry way.
